OBJECTIVE To screen out AchE inhibitors from herb extracts. The inhibitors will be used as lead compounds to develop new drugs for Alzheimer’s disease( AD) . METHODS An AchEIs screening model was established in vitro. The extracts of herbs were randomly screened with the improved Ellman colorimetry. The inhibitors were traced from active extracts. RESULTS Two inhibitors, inhibitions of which were more than 50% ,were obtained. They were scopoletin and cannabichromeorcinic acid. CONCLUSION The model is convenient and reliable. It can be used to screen out the inhibitors. The two compounds can be researched further as lead compounds to develop new drugs for AD.
