Objective:To investigate the protective effects of Gankang on D-galactosamine-induced liver injury and study its possible mechanism. Methods:The model of chemical injury in liver of mouse was prepared. The level of alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST) in serum, malondiadehyde(MDA)content, nitric oxide(NO)in liver homogenate were assayed by spectrophotometer.Results:Gankang(200,400,800mg·kg~(-1))significantly decreased the levels of serum transaminase(ALT,AST),liver index and spleen index.Furthermore,Gankang also decreased MDA and NO level in liver homogenate. Conclusion:Gankang possesses protective action on chemical injury in liver of mice, which is related to its mechanism of ressistance to the liver cell oxidation.
