Factors affecting the corrosion resistance of trivalent chromium coating on ABS plastic

The major causes for mildewing (poor corrosion resistance) of trivalent chromium plating coatings were pointed out. The effects of the selection and molding of ABS plastics,as well as the structure of trivalent chromium plating coating,post-plating rinsing,and protective packing on the corrosion resistance of trivalent chromium plating coating were analyzed. The importance of the surface roughness of ABS plastics and post-treatment was emphasized. Some measures for improving the corrosion resistance of trivalent chromium plating coatings were given.
