Objective:To explore the experimental method for the establishment of experimental animal model of reusable pulpitis.Methods:Twenty male Wistar rats were used as experimental group.The maxillary first molar of each rat in the experimental group was treated by drilling the enamel without water cooling and then the dentine was corroded with acid.The rats of the normal group without treatment were killed at 0 day.The rats of the experimental group were killed at 1,3,5 and 7 days after treatment.The maxillary and teeth were fixed,decalcified and embedded in paraffin,and after that 5μm thick serial section was prepared.The sections were stained with hematoxylin-eosin and examined under a light microscope.Results:The typical reusable inflammatory changes were observed in the pulp tissue of the experimental group.Conclusion:The method for the establishment of experimental animal model of reusable pulpitis by drilling the enamel without water cooling and then the dentine was corroded with acid is simple and feasible.
