While there is typically more bad news than good about the environment, one optimistic development in the last three decades is the emergence of a specifically religious environmentalism. This chapter first defines religious environmentalism and then shows its connection to environmental activism, raising questions about it as a phenomenon that is simultaneously religious, environmental, and political.
