Granulation tissue formation is a part of proliferative phase of normal wound healing. Hypergranulation is the excess of granulation tissue which does not allow epithelialization from the wound edges. Removal of hypergranulation tissue should not cause excessive bleeding and should not damage the normal tissue important for wound healing. Radiofrequency is a novel electrosurgical method that can cut and coagulate simultaneously and causes minimal collateral tissue damage. We used radiofrequency diathermy loop for removal of hypergranulation tissue. We found it to be effective, safe and feasible method for this indication.
