Seven-coordinate complexes of first-row transition metals

In presenting the coordination chemistry of the first-row transition metals, the coordination numbers four and six are normally stressed because of the propensity of the transition elements to adopt these coordination numbers when complexed with mono-bi-and tri-dentate ligands.
