Über den Einfluß von Ultraschall auf chemische Reaktionen

Abstract At sufficiently high intensities ultrasonic irradiation of liquids causes cavitation which leads to extremely high local temperatures and pressures. Therefore, chemical reactions may be accelerated by ultrasound. This effect is called sonochemistry. Using representative examples from both homogeneous and heterogeneous chemistry, the applications of sonochemistry in synthetic chemistry are illustrated.
