Hypervalent iodine oxidation of flavonols and 3-hydroxy-2-styrylchromones in different alcohols

Manuscript received 18 May 2016, revised 08 September 2016, accepted 19 September 2016 Flavonols and 3-hydroxy-2-styrylchromones react with diacetoxyiodobenzene (DAIB) in different alcohols to yield addition compound. Alcohols used as solvent in the oxidation process add to the C-2 carbon of both the flavonols and 3-hydroxy-2-styrylchromones.
