Abstract: Orsellinic Acid (OA) and its derivatives, as a class of natural compounds with unique chemical structures and significant biological activities, have sparked widespread research interest and practical exploration in various fields, such as pharmaceutical development, food processing, and cosmetics manufacturing in recent years. These compounds not only showcase the distinctive appeal of natural products but also attract considerable attention due to their prominent biological functions, such as antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activities. Therefore, they have emerged as a focal point for in-depth exploration and application. With the continuous advancement of modern science and technology, particularly in areas such as analytical chemistry, molecular biology, and synthetic chemistry, research on OA and its derivatives has become increasingly sophisticated. Their potential medicinal value and efficacy are gradually being uncovered. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive and in-depth review on the current research status of OA and its derivatives, covering not only their natural sources and chemical structural features, but also focusing on the biological activities, including but not limited to antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activities, providing valuable references and insights for researchers and practitioners in related fields.
