Synthesis of Dicyclopentadiene-Tert-Butylphenol Resins

Dicyclopentadiene tert butylphenol resins can be synthesized from dicyclopentadiene and p tert butylphenol in presence of BF 3 Et 2O catalyst.The resins with good soft point and oil solubility can be gotten when the ratio of dicyclopentadiene and p tert butylphenol was 1∶1～1∶2.5,0.5 % catalyst,reaction temperature was 85 ℃ for 3 h,then at 120 ℃ for 3 h.
