Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety of Ziprasidone and Quetiapine in the treatment of women schizophrenia.Methods:94 women patients with schizophrenia were stochastic allocated to two groups treated with Ziprasidone and Quetiapine for 8 weeks. The Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS) and Treatment Emergent Side Effect Scale were used to evaluate the efficacy and side effects. Results: The significant efficacy rates of Ziprasidone was 82.98% and the efficacy rates was 95.74% after 8 weeks, while that was 80.85% and 93.62% in Quetiapine group. There was no significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).The incidence rate of adverse effect was 23.40% in Ziprasidone group and that was 25.53% in Quetiapine group, and there was not a significant difference between them(P0.05).The level of PRL in Ziprasidone was lower than that of Quetiapine. Conclusions: Ziprasidone is as effective as Quetiapine in the treatment of women schizophrenia, but Ziprasidone was more suitable for women patients.
