Research advance in tetrandrine's inhibition action on multidrug resistance

This paper summarizes the mechanisms of multidrug resistance(MDR) and the probable mechanism of the tetrandrine's inhibition action on MDR.The possible mechanisms include: inhibiting the function of P-glycoprotein,inducing cell apoptosis,decreasing the activity of protein kinaseC(PKC),influencing the expression of nuclear factor kappaB and the level of intracellular calcium.
