SYNTHESIS OF Mg3(PO4)2·8H2O

Abstract Mg3(PO4)2·8H2O was prepared by converting Mg3(PO4)2·22H2O in an alkaline solution at a pH of about 9. The conversion period was reduced to 2–4 weeks by the addition of MgHPO4·3H2O to the 22-hydrate and the pH adjustment with Na2CO3.
