Ceria is a well-known material for its catalytic properties. In our contribution we prepared cerium dioxide nanoparticles by precipitation reaction of cerium (IV) sulfate and ammonia. These nanoparticles showed an approximate nanocrystal size of about 2.0 nm. Accurately adjusted heating of these nanoparticles can be applied in order to control the crystal growth. The temperature dependence of the ceria nanocrystal sizes and monitoring its basic physical properties was the main purpose of this contribution. All the samples were examined by XRD analysis and the Scherrer formula was used for determination of the crystallite size.
