Irradiation - facilitated chromosomal translocation: wheat as an example.

This chapter covers the different aspects of irradiation-facilitated chromosomal translocation in plants, focusing on the types of chromosome translocation induced by irradiation, development of useful translocation lines, radiation mutagens inducing chromosome breakages, genotypes targeted for irradiation treatment, target materials for mutagenesis and irradiation dosage, and identification of translocation events. The exploitation of translocation lines in wheat breeding and genetic mapping is discussed.
