TOBACCO SMOKE Tobacco smoke is a mixture of >6000 compounds partitioned between particulate (liquid droplet) and vapour phases. Mobility particle size and concentration is 250350 nm volume median diameter (σg=1.4) in the region of 1e+11 particles per puff for fresh smoke[1]. The aerosol is subject to rapid changes by coagulation, hygroscopic growth, condensation and evaporation, and deposition as it transits the mouth and lung.
