Composition and contents analysis of the polysaccharides from loquat leaf

OBJECTIVE To study the composition and contents of the polysaccharides from Folium Eriobotryae.METHODS The polysaccharides FEW and FEB were obtained by extracting of loquat leaf,it were studied by chromatography after removing protein and dialyzing,and then its contents were determined.Results The hexose members and the molar ratio of the polysaccharides showed follows:FEW component was Fru、Rha、Man、Gal,and the molar ratios was 1.00:0.13:0.03:0.05;FEB component was Fru、Rha、Ara、Man、Glu、Gal,and the molar ratios was 1.00:0.45:0.94:0.31:0.16:0.55.The percents of neutral saccharide、uronic acid and protein in FEW and FEB were 65.2%、15.8%、5.2% and 65.9%、14.3%、14.7% respectively.CONCLUSION The polysaccharides from loquat leaf were protein-hetero-polysaccharides.
