The Preliminary Study on the Process of Isolating Leucine from Corn Gluten Acid-Hydrolysate

A new process for isolating Lleucine from corn gluten acid hydrolysate was proposed.Corn gluten was hydrolyzed with hydrochloric acid.After removing portion of the acid by concentration,3,4dimethylbenzenesulfonic acid was added into the hydrolysate to precipitate Lleucine.Pure Lleucine could be obtained by amminolysing the resulte precipitate and by the succeedent purification procedures.The yield of Lleucine was 3.2%.The product quality was in accord with the Japanese Standards.
