This Geotechnical Special Publication contains 26 papers on state-of-the-art developments in deep foundation design, construction, testing, and inspection that were collected to honor George G. Goble, Ph.D., P.E. These improvements to deep foundations can save time, reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance performance. George G. Goble has made significant contributions to and personally influenced the development of mainstream design and construction assessment tools on a worldwide basis. Topics include: trends in deep foundations; theory and international practice of wave equation analysis; dynamic and static pile testing; and nondestructive integrity testing related to deep foundations.
