The synthesis of water-soluble meso-tetra(4-chlorol-3-sulfophenyl) porphyrin used by water-insoluble meso-tetra(4-chlorol phenyl)porphyrin is reported using CHCl3 as solvent and ClSO3H as sulfated reagent.The experimental results show the best ratio of reactant is n(meso-tetra(4-chlorol-3-sulfophenyl) porphyrin)∶n(ClSO3H)=1.33∶29.80,CHCl3 is 15 mL,the reactive time is 2 h at 60 ℃.In this technology,the temperature is 60~80 ℃ lower than traditional method and the reaction is controlled more easily,the yield is 11.4 %.
