Fatty acid contents from 166 cows raised by individual dairy cattle household were assayed using gaschromatograph The mean content of myristic acid is 9 49 2 06 with the coefficient of variation (cv) of 21 71% and 95% confidence interval of 9 17 to 9 81, the corresponding data for palmitic acid were 24 47 3 22, 13 16% and 23 97 to 24 97; for stearic acid, 14 83 2 31, 15 58% and 14 47 to 15 19; for oleic acid, 33 85 3 99, 11 79% and 33 24 to 34 46; for linoleic acid, 9 91 2 54, 25 63% and 9 52 to 10 30; for the rest fatty acids, 7 45 1 99, 26 71% and 7 14 to 7 76, respectively The values of 95% tolerance interval for myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic aicd and the rest fatty acid were 5 41 to 13 57, 18 09 to 30 85, 10 26 to 19 40, 25 95 to 41 75, 4 89 to 14 93 and 3 51 to 11 39, respectively Correlation coefficient between palmitic acid and stearic acid was -0 4435 (p 0 01), between stearic acid and oleic acid was 0 2319 (p 0 05); between palmitic acid and oleic acid was -0 4917 (p0 01)
