Objective The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinic efficacy of IPS-Empress porcelain laminate veneers in aesthetic dentistry. Methods 376 anterior tooth of 69 patients were restored with IPS-empress porcelain laminate veneers.The patients were recalled for evaluation postoperatively,at regular intervals of 1week,6 months,1 years and 3 years respectively.The factors of evaluation included the veneers' integrity,fracture,the marginal situation,the gingival health,sensitivity and the patients'satisfaction with color match. Results The study showed that during the periods of evaluation,more than 98% veneers were found to be intact,the rate of debond and fracture was less than 1% respectively.The veneers showed excellent marginal fit and gingival health.At the one week,64 teeth had sensitive symptom,but the sensitive symptom had almost disappeared at the follow-up examination.The color of the veneers was stable. Conclusion The study indicates that the IPS-Empress porcelain laminate veneer is reliable and ideal choice for anterior aesthetic restoration.
