Clinical Observation on Lipo PGE_1 in combination with amitriptyline for Postherpetic neuralgia in patients with Herpes zoster(24 case report)

Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of combined therapy of Lipo PGE1 and amitriptyline in the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia of herpes zoster(PHN).Methods 48 patients with PHN were randomly divided into treatment and control group(24 patients in each group): treatment group were administrated with 20 μg·d-1 Lipo PGE1 and 25 mg·d-1 amitriptyline for 2 weeks,control group were treated with 25 mg·d-1 amitriptyline for 2 weeks.Results The effective rates(ER) for treatment group and control group were 87.5% and 62.5% respectively.Great significances were found between two groups(P0.05).Pain score of treatment group(1.57±0.98,0.56±0.82) was lower than that of control group(3.33±1.52,2.01±1.13)(P0.05) after 1 and 3 months.Slight adverse drug reactions occurred in one patient of each group,but without affecting treatment.Conclusions Combined therapy of Lipo PGE1 and amitriptyline was safe and effective for the treatment of PHN.
