Sildenafil is a selective phosphodiestersase-5(PDE-5)inhibitor which through inhibiting of the breakdown of cGMP to enhance the production of endogenous NO.sildenafil is predominantly used in the treatment of erectiledys function.Recent studies have shown that sildenafil can depress pulmonary arterial hypertension.The following review discussed the advancement of sildenafil in the treatment of pulmonary hypertension.
