Study of Permeation Enhancers of Shangkexiaoyan Cataplasm

Objective To investigate the effect of permeation enhancers of azone,propylene glycol and the compounded permeation enhancer on the transdermal permeation of Shangkexiaoyan cataplasm.Methods Principal drug in prescription is Salvia miltiorrhiza,with salvianolic acid B as the index to inspect the total osmolality,and the role of enhancing permeation of permeation enhancers for the main active component were studied by in vitro permeation.Results All permeation enhancers could increase permeation,but the complex permeation enhancers(azone:propylene glycol=1:1)is best.The permeation enhancing multiple of it was 6 times higher than the blank cataplasm.Conclusion Azone:propylene glycol=1:1 is more suitable to act as a permeation enhancer of Shangkexiaoyan cataplasm.
