Determination of Formononetin in Astragalus membranaceus(Fisch.)Bge.by HPLC

The quality level of Astragalus membranaceus(Fisch.)Bge.was established,and the qualities of Astragalus membranaceus(Fisch.) Bge.from different producing areas were investigated.The contents of formononetin componential in 68 Astragalus membranaceus(Fisch.) Bge.from 7 provinces in China were determined by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) with the contents of formononetin as measure quality index.The detection results of 68 Astragalus membranaceus(Fisch.)Bge.from 7 provinces showed the differences of formononetin componential contents were large in Astragalus membranaceus(Fisch.)Bge.from different producing areas,and contents ordered as follows:ShanxiInner MongoliaGansuLiaoning.The differences of formononetin componential contents were big in different variety of Astragalus membranaceus(Fisch.)Bge.,but the contents of cultivar variety were less than wild variety.The contents of formononetin componential were different due to different growing time,and contents of growing time lawed the order as follow:two yearsfour yearsfive yearsthree years.The quality evaluation of Astragalus membranaceus(Fisch.)Bge.by HPLC was available,and can provide the scientific and confident judgment to pharmacy factory for the selection of raw material of Astragalus membranaceus(Fisch.)Bge.
