摘要
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) receive much attention because of their highly porous nature and specific surface area. MOFs are crystalline materials with a microporous nature and are comprised of metal ion and multidentate organic linkers attached with coordination bonds. MOF materials also possess good permeability and electrocatalytic properties, which suggests their potential applications in electrochemical and optoelectronic devices. Herein, we summarize the current advances in preparation of MOFs and their hybrid composites for electrochemical sensing applications. The fabrication of electrochemical sensing electrodes and the role therein of MOFs, and their composites as electrode materials, are also reviewed. The current challenges and future perspectives for the development of MOF-based electrochemical sensing are discussed. We believe this chapter is useful to provide information regarding advances in the development of MOF-based electrochemical sensors.
