From conceptual to preliminary design: Aerodynamic characterization of MR5 civil high-speed aircraft

This paper reports the aerodynamic characterization of MR5 civil high-speed aircraft, studied in the field of the MORE&LESS project. At each step, the accuracy of the aerodynamic analysis is increased. The analysis starts from simplified methods already available in literature, which allow us to have a first estimation of the aerodynamics. Then, CFD analysis is performed to have a more detailed characterization. Moreover, a test campaign will be performed to complete the aerodynamic investigation. Eventually, mission simulation is used to validate the vehicle performance along the reference route.
