摘要
A convenient and effective TiCl4-catalyzed procedure for the direct deoxygenative reduction of amides to corresponding amines has been developed using safe and stable ammonia borane (AB) as the reductant. This reduction protocol allows for a wide range of structurally diverse amine products in moderate to excellent yields, various functional groups such as halogen, nitro, and hydroxy groups were well tolerated. This protocol could be performed without using any noble metal catalyst, inert atmosphere, dry solvent, and water scavenger.
