Reaction Process of the Thermal Decomposition of Zinc Sulphate

摘要
The thermal decomposition of zinc sulphate was studied by using methodes of differential thermal, thermogravimetric and X-ray analysis, and the reaction process of decomposition was discussed. From analysis of results obtained, it is shown that the decomposition of zinc sulphate consists of two reaction stages, which proceed succesively, as follows:3ZnSO4 (α orβ)→ZnO·2ZnSO4+SO3ZnO·2ZnSO4→3ZnO+2SO3.The basic sulphate, as intermedia, was identified as ZnO·2ZnSO4.
