Development of High Speed Steel Roll

High speed steel has been used for roll materials,since it has many advantages over conventional roll materials.The recent research status and development of high speed steel used for roll were reviewed.The composition design,the character of carbides and the machining properties of this high speed steel material were summarized.In order to improve properties and meet requirements,study and control of carbides in HSS and the manufacture process of HSS roll should be emphasized.
