Based on the different thickness steel sheets of Auto Body components,the research of the resistance spot welding and laser welding with different length was carried out.According to tensile-shear test results,the shortest length of laser weld beam whose performance is equivalent to resistance spot welding was obtained.Then,the comparative analysis of the microstructure for laser welded joints and resistance spot welding joints was also made.Finally,a comparison test between car doors of laser welding and resistance welding was carried out.The results show that the determination of laser welding seam length has a certain relationship with the plate thickness and weld pool width respectively;the microstructure of laser welded joints is tiny evenly than the resistance spot welding joints;the overall quality and performance of the door welded by laser are better,and the laser welding process reflects a higher flexibility.
