The purity measurement result of benzoic acid determined by alkali titration according to HG 3-987—76 is higher than the real purity because of the inorganic acid that remains,when the benzoic acid is produced from soclium benzoate with excessive acid.A new method of acid titration adopting neutralization and adjusting pH is proposed to measure the purity of benzoic acid.The operation is easy and the result is accurate.
