Cophecheilus brevibarbatus, a new labeonine fish from Guangxi, South China (Teleostei: Cyprinidae)

Cophecheilus brevibarbatus, new species, is described from Longbu Spring in Tiandong County, Guangxi, South China. It is distinguished from the only congener C. bamen, by its short barbels, relatively anterior insertion of dorsal and pelvic fins, and pharyngeal teeth in three rows with five teeth on the inner row.
