Objective To determine a practical method of constructing photoaging model,the key factors were studied. Methods The Sprague-Dawley rats were irradiated for three times a week to by ultraviolet irradiation ( UVA and UVB) for 12 week. The total dose of UVA were 148. 5J/cm2,UVB were 21. 38J/cm2. The photoaging characteristics in clinical,pathological observation and evaluation of biological markers of irradiated skin was carried out. Results The rats,which had been irradiated for 12 weeks by UVA combining with UVB had the photoaging characteristics in clinical,the changes of pathological and biological markers significantly, which indicanted animal model of Sprague-Dawley rat skin photoaging was established successfully. Conclusion This method is easy,economic and reproducible. It can be generally used for photoaging study.
