At low temperature(180℃),the TiO_2 microspheres were synthesized via a one step route using TiCl_3 as precursor. Its photocatalytic activities and growth mechanism were discussed.Microspheres were characterized on crystal structure, particle size, and specific surface area by X-ray diffractometry(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and BET analysis. The results show that the product is rutile microspheres and selfassembled by nanorods with diameter about 30 nm.Nitrogen sorption-desorption test reveals that the specific surface area is SBET=31.2m~2/g and the pore size is 3.88nm.Under visible light, the photocatalytic performance of the microspheres on degradation of RhB is more excellent than that of P25.
