Synthesis of 2,6-diisopropylnaphthalene over oxides-modified H-mordenite zeolite catalysts

Steam dealuminated H-mordenite (SDHM) was modified by nitrates of B,P,Mg,La,Zr and Ce via impregnation method .The modified H-mordenite zeolites were tested for isopropylation of naphthalene with propylene in a fix-bed reactor.The results showed that loading of Ce onto the H-mordenite effectively enhanced selectivity to 2,6-DIPN.Naphthalene conversion declined while selectivity to 2,6- DIPN increased with increasing Ce content.The modified H-mordenite exhibited good regenerability.
