Design and Production Practice of Curved Cathode 300 kA Cell

The operational process of aluminum electrolysis is analyzed and studied from design simulation and production practice of the curved cathode of aluminum electrolytic cell of 300 kA.If curved cathode is adopted,the thermal field of aluminum electrolytic cell,the magnetic field and the flow field are mainly the same as the cathode electrolytic cell,but the uniformity of current distribution of aluminum liquid and cathode carbon blocks is improved and the fluctuation of aluminum liquid is reduced.The electrolytic cell of curved cathode enjoys an obvious energy saving effect,higher safety and lower effect coefficients.Through comparision with normal cathode electrolytic cell,the advantages and disadvantages of curved cathode electrolytic cell of 300 kA and the optimized measure are obtained.
