A Method to Quickly Estimate the Probable Value of Shale Gas Well

Abstract We give test results for the simple exponential model and the power-law exponential model for predicting shale gas production. Three parameter estimation methods tested show that analytical procedures are far superior to derivative methods. Economic evaluation tests show that economic factors may be more important than the details of the forecasting model used.
