摘要
In this paper, we exploit a low-profile wide-angle scanning tightly coupled dipole array (TCDA). The element consists of a Wilkinson power divider, folded Marchand balun, tightly coupled dipoles, and printed frequency selective surfaces (FSS) superstrate. The metallic printed sheet is inserted between the units to provide additional capacitance compared to standard dipole; thus, the low-frequency performance is improved. The FSS superstrate to improve the scanning performance of the array. The proposed array achieves VSWR<3 across 6-13.35GHz when scanning up to 60° in both E and H plan, and the realized gain is greater than 0dBi is across the 80% frequency band. The overall array profile height is less than 10mm (only 0.4 λ high ), where λ high is the wavelength at the highest operational frequency.
