Objective To observe the dynamic changes of malondialdehyde (MDA),transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) in patients with paraquat poisoning. Methods The levels of MDA,TGF-β1 of paraquat poisoning group and healthy control group were determined on the 1st,3rd,5th,7th,14th,21st,28th days after poisoning by penthiobarbital colorimetric and double antibody sandwich method, and the chest CT was examined synchronously. Results Compared with healthy control group, the levels of MDA and TGF-β1 in peripheral blood of paraquat poisoning group increased (P <0.05 or P <0.01).The level of MDA showed declining trend and the level of TGF-β1 was increased with the time and pulmonary interstitial fibrosis. Conclusions TGF-β1 may play an important role in the development of pulmonary interstitial fibrosis induced by paraquat.
