Aim or purpose: To investigate the clinical effectiveness of concentrated growth factor (CGF)-enriched sticky bone in repairing the distal bone tissue defect of the second molar after extraction of impacted third molar in the lower jaw. Materials and methods: A total of 40 patients with impacted third molar and distal bone defects of the second molar. They were randomly divided into a study group (using CGF-enriched sticky bone) and a control group (using CGF). The increment of distal bone tissue and the depth of periodontal exploration of the second molar, the VAS scores, the postoperative bleeding and infection were compared between two groups. Results: At 1, 3, and 7 days postoperatively, there were no significant differences in VAS scores (P > 0.05). At 6 months postoperatively, the increase of alveolar bone height in the study group was significantly greater than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.01). At 6 months postoperatively, clinical examination showed good healing of the extraction socket, and there was no statistically significant difference in the depth of periodontal exploration between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusions: The application of CGF-enriched sticky bone has a significant effect on the repair of the distal bone tissue defect of the second molar , after extraction of impacted third molar in the lower jaw.
