A SIMPLE THEORY FOR SHOCK PROPAGATION IN HOMOGENEOUS MIXTURES

Abstract : A Hugoniot pressure density relationship for homogeneous mixtures is calculated from the Hugoniot pressure density relationship of the constituents. The calculated values are found to be in reasonable agreement with available experimental data on mixtures of solids and porous materials.
