Decoding the eosinophil connection: implications for precision treatment of emphysematous in COPD

We have carefully reviewed the seminal work by Leung et al. [1] published in the European Respiratory Journal. This study provides a comprehensive integration of COPD emphysema phenotype, airway eosinophilic infiltration characteristics and the underlying molecular mechanisms, while systematically evaluating the differential therapeutic responses to inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) across distinct inflammatory phenotypes.
