Wound, Pressure Ulcer, and Burn Guidelines (2023)–2: Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Pressure Ulcers, Third Edition

ABSTRACT Guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of pressure ulcers, third edition, is a fully revised guidelines drafted by the Japanese Dermatological Association Wound/Pressure Ulcer/Burn Guidelines Drafting Committee. They were developed in a systematic and transparent manner with the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) approach. In the four clinical questions with meta‐analyses, debridement, topical medication, dressings, and negative‐pressure wound therapy were weakly recommended in the treatment of pressure ulcers. General information on diagnosis, prevention, assessment, and unconventional treatment of pressure ulcers was also provided.
