Abstract Hydrogel dressings play an important role in the treatment of bacterial infection. In this study, carboxymethyl chitosan (CM‐CS) was cross‐linked with aldehyde polyglycol (DF‐PEG), and then polydopamine (pDA) and 5,10,15, 20‐tetrakis (4‐aminophenyl) porphyrin (TAPP) were grafted to prepare a CM‐CS/DF‐PEG/pDA/TAPP hydrogel (CDPT). The results showed that the CDPT hydrogel had good adhesion, injectability, self‐healing, degradability, and biocompatibility. Under near‐infrared irradiation, the CDPT hydrogel has excellent photothermal and photodynamic effects and can effectively inhibit activity of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) , Escherichia coli ( E. coli ) and antibiotic‐resistant, methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) . In summary, CDPT hydrogel has potential applications as antibacterial material.
