Objective To compare the wound healing conditions between the episiotomy and natural perineal laceration of primiparas and explore the science of episiotomy. Methods 444 primiparas were divided into episiotomy and non- episiotomy group, the 210 primiparas in episiotomy group were treated by routine nursing care, the 234 primiparas in non- episiotomy group were controlled the rate of episiotomy to compare the wound healing indicators including blood loss, laceration and pain degree, the station of healing. Results There was no significant difference in the station of wound healing between the two groups( χ2= 0. 4743,P 0. 05),the laceration degree of episiotomy group was significantly serious than the non- episiotomy group( z =- 19. 760,P 0. 01),the blood loss of episiotomy group was significantly more than the non- episiotomy group( t = 4. 4082,P 0. 01). the pain degree of episiotomy group was significantly higher than the non- episiotomy group on the first and the second day after postpartum( the first day: z =- 8. 971,P 0. 01,the second day : z =- 9. 787,P 0. 01). Conclusion Compared with the natural perineal laceration of primiparas, episiotomy had no obvious advantage, then the clinical value of episiotomy needs to be further studied.
