Studies of King Lear—From the Viewpoint of the Power Discourse of New Historicism

New Historalism pays more attention to the fight of power.This essay analyses the mingling function of subversion and in Shakespearean tragedy King Lear from the aspect of New Historalism.It points out that subversion makes people despise authority and query the power,and that the role of containment is less important for social functions.It also shows the advantages and disadvantages of subversion and containment.
