Diffuse axonal injury in severe head injury

51 patients with diffuse axonal injury(DAI)werereviewed. The incidence accounted for 13.35% of all se-vere head injury,In most of the patients,DAI was causedby traffic accidents. The patients fell in persistent comaimmediately after the injury,but the manifestation of CTscanning was mild. The mechanism,pathology and clini- cal diagnosis were discussed.It is considered that the useof MRI contributes to the clinical diagnosis of DAI.
